I think the AJ feud was a great time to give him a run too, but looking back with hindsight and knowing what we got with heel Bryan at the end...idk I don't know if I'd trade that for a Joe run

I'd say overall I'm perfectly content with Joe's WWE run. He didn't have a lot of kayfabe success but he was always in the main event scene deservingly and had some banger feuds

I do wonder if WWE just didn't wanna indulge him in the ring anymore though bc I don't see why he'd be released from commentary. So maybe it was him wanting to still go and them saying no here
