The biggest problems of that show was the producers taped the finale during season 2 and they had zero clue how to make a taped ending work after writing 7 mire seasons.

Like why end season 8 with Barney and Robin gettign engaged if you were goign to use the canned finale from 7 years ago. Just break them up by having Robin say no to Barney in season 8. Problem solved.
