My first instinct is to say no. I'm sure there's a better comparison out there...

I can't think of one honestly. How many people in the past have been booked to look like they shouldn't be taken serious as a competitor? I'm hoping they finish out this story-line with him proving himself but the odds seem slim.

I can't think of another comedy character that's gotten a significant achievement on the level of MITB tbh

I just wonder how good his acting chops are. Can he be a convincing serious character? He may not need to but what he's doing right now is almost impossible to picture being an actual main eventer. Or even upper midcard for that matter.

I think the change to a serious main event push would require a turn unfortunately.

And I say that because I don't think this goofy stuff is much of an act on his part. Whenever you see him elsewhere, this is just how he is.

Like if you watch him on Celtic Warrior Workouts... a show where no one is in character... he's pretty much the exact same as he is on TV.
