I never got the hate on the Starrcade finish. Goldberg was protected AF. It took a literal cattle prod to beat him.

But it was what turned Nash heel, that's what I mean. Also a dirty finish on your top PPV of the year never goes over for me

Well, it was a real gimmick finish. And with the benefit of hindsight, we now know Goldberg was never the same.

Nash wasn't heel there. He was "angry" the next night and that's when he made the challenge to Goldbverg to settle it "right." The finger poke is when he turned heel.

Streaks never end up ending well in wrestling tbh, should have just went with some fuckery on a Nitro to get it over with instead of Starrcade, people would have complained about that as well but it would have been better to me

That is true, I forgot about that, still before he fully turned heel, I wouldn't have wanted a babyface Nash winning dirty like that even to protect the streak

Honestly if they would have had Nash beat Goldberg how Goldberg beat Lesnar, it would have been better long term. I'm sure there would be outrage no matter what, though.

I agree with you there. Babyface Nash should have gone over clean. The fans were behind him all the way.
