I mean just pure character yeah 90s for a long shot by me. Ring work I'd give an edge to his return but not by a whole lot. I rank both "versions" of Shawn pretty even but 90s probably better

I think the ring work is pretty even. His matches in the 90s were great too. He just had more people to work with in the 2000s.

Credit to Vince bc didn't he cut a promo real quick introducing Angle as the savior or something to get the crowd to just boo him like sheep

They should have kept Austin heel and had him put over Brock some time in 2002 with a built up feud and have the two shakehands

Angle was such a solid babyface that entire Invasion angle. Shame they didn't keep it going into 2002.

He did and it was after saying they were going to strip Austin of the belt, so he got them ready to get back to boo Vince, Angle and cheer Austin mode fast.

I agree. WWE fucked Angle's first title reign, so the Invasion was key for him becoming a top guy
