Ah yes, calling people ignorant because people actually know how to look at the actual facts for themselves instead of panic because the media told them to. It's also funny seeing Sabretooth talk about facts when he still doesn't understand risk factors.
These numbers come from the CDC and WHO and they preface this by saying that age still plays the largest factor beyond these risk factors and most of the people killed were smokers so that skews the numbers as well. If you're a non-smoker with no risk factors and under the age of 50 that 0.9 shrinks dramatically. I don't care if the US wants to take precautions to ensure the vulnerable aren't exposed and I never said otherwise. All I've said, and Deezy has said I think, is you don't need to panic. The world will not end this year and not to COVID-19. The most telling thing most panickers don't understand is we still don't know the full scope of how many people caught corona, got sick and recovered without ever being tested. The current estimation is about 100,000 which makes these numbers shrink further. There's still far too little we know about this to panic like we as a species are doing. Just stay inside and watch TV and don't go to gatherings of 50 or more and don't visit your grandparents for a month or two and you'll be fine. TBH looking over the symptoms again, I think last month I might have had it, but I'm not going panic too much thinking about it. And yes, mass testing, better technology and communications. TBH when I said it's basically a flu, I wasn't saying don't do anything about this. I was saying people don't worry enough about a disease that inflicts millions a year and kills a quarter of a million US residents a year. That's not even the worldwide number btw.
