i think for me the difference between those and durnam is the cleverness and the context. durnam to me never felt super deep and just an excuse to do stereotypes

Oh he’s not deep at all but he uses his talents as a puppet maker and ventriloquist and tells jokes he knows will hit with the masses. He’s not trying to make a statement. It’s served him well.
