The main difference is that the Beatles were experimenting with old technology to do different things with it, while Pink Floyd was doing the same but with technology as it was being invented and put on the market. Roger Waters was constantly buying new things and fucking with them and playing around to do really cool stuff, whereas the Beatles would discover cool techniques that could be done with older stuff, and they were more practical
