And he lied so much to the point where even when he said "This is me for real." After I spilled the beans of what I knew to the mods, we checked. It was four accounts. All of which I knew. And I can get if you hide behind one new account out of like anxiety, self confidence issues when going to a site with people you know, but once you pretend to be people you aren't, including pretending to be people who are from less fortunate parts of society, that is where I draw a line.

No I have been living and working in Lille for 11 years now :)
Nice. We lived in Montpellier for 5 years, but the year round heat was too much for me. I work from home and it's intensive so I wasn't finding any benefit living there, so decided to move north after a trip to Lille and seeing how friendly everyone was versus my experiences in the south and in Paris.

And even on the note of being trans. Gender identity/orientation is not an easy thing to figure out. Sometimes people think they're one thing before pulling back and trying another label, or go back. Like for me, if I finally get in a position where I can explore more of who I am and realise "I'm not a female" or whatever, then it is not like I was lying. Just things changed. But he LIED from the start. That is what still pisses me off.

I tried to explain that to a college professor once who thought it was horrible that two psychiatrist referrals were required for sexual reassigment surgery. She didn't understand that psychiatrists are not trying to make it difficult for people who need the surgery, they are trying to make sure people who who haven't totally figured themselves out yet don't rush into something that cant reverse

Also Arras has quite a nice night life, and the Christmas market is amazing

Yeah. Like generally, the regret for GRS is genuinely pretty low. Like it is less than 1% and lower than something like Knee replacement surgery. But it is still a big change. Ideally, yeah, you still need the referrals, for something like GRS (and to a degree HRT) but sometimes people can't even GET one to begin with. That's another issue

In the class, I mentioned how the suicide rate in the past was high for people with regret and she lambasted me, telling me that the first thing people shouldn't learn about trans people is the high suicide rate. I was like "That is totally not what I said. I said the people in the past who werent truly trans, only questioning, were the ones with the high suicide rate." But she was too stupid to get it

That was my LGBTQ history class... she spent the entire semester talking about how bad psychologists were... I was like "Bitch, that's my major, lay off."

We get things wrong a lot, but that is actually how we eventually get things right
