it was set to 60hz by windows fsr

the look on my face when i purchased a 200+ monitor and went to change it and it only said 60hz

luckily i had a 1080 graphics card at the time and it had a DVI input on it and the monitor does 144hz through that so that's what I used. it has VGA/DVI/HDMI on the monitor and nothing really uses vga or dvi now

ideally i think these days you want to use the display port if you can

also, i never understood the graphics card, i guess the bigger then number the better but idk
