i have me(battle master fighter), laezel, shadowheart, and karlach

yeah be sure to do everything in act 1, there's two routes to enter act 2, but you'll be done with the big story stuff once you go through the underdark and through the creche quests. some of the best quests in the game. lots of good gear too.

But rogue in bg3 feels a bit underpowered

I'm using astarian as a thief with sharpshooter perk. Hard for him to hit but when he does it's high damage. Also have two bonus actions which I can do offhand melee attacks with. But otherwise he's mostly useful for lock picking, and very OP at that
