I put a lot of these games on my ps1 classic but the load times are just gross so it makes me lose interest

.hack was a game i had a ton of interest in. I think Sword Art Online is close to it now. You played an MMO game inside the game and if you died in it the person died IRL

there was like a manga and anime that went with it but i just never got much into it because i was in high school and my friends all hated it and they weren't that easy to find in the states.
