GCW peaked at Hammerstein, where Cardona himself had a terrible match. ppl were curious to tune in for him when he was there, but then he himself didn't deliver on their biggest show and that was that.

Cardona def a draw as well but since he doesn't want to sign anywhere full time, kind of hard to make him your full time champ of bigger indies

he's used as a special attraction in GCW and its a great spot for him imo, young folks should be champ

I think Hammerstein falling flat and GCW not being able to get as many top tier indie workers or contracted AEW talent is what hurt them the most. when they had Cardona and Mox almost every show, of course they were getting more mainstream appeal. Now they don't get a lot of these guys regularly and AEW also started using AAA talent like Vikingo, so those appearances also feel less special on GCW now.

right now, Id say a few other indies have passed them. I think Sami Calihans promotion is probably the best indie atm
