Yea... it feels like after Sheamus they didn't really had an idea what to do with Gunther and the IC title... so random short stories it is.

If Gunther were in a big grudge feud with someone, were the Title isn't the main thing... him getting rolled up because of a distraction and losing the title would be more than fine.... IF it's done right.

The irony of it all is with the comedy he’s gotten so much more over and had more a chance to shine that it would be great but I also see the issue with it being him too.

Maybe Knight will switch brands and then he can be the one to take the belt off Gunther. Keep his red hot momentum and then let Gunther go after the big title
