English is a weird conglomeration of Germanic and Latin itself I think? That's why some is similar but most isn't and it overall makes 0 sense

you guys stole and bastardized a shit ton of latin words yes, it makes it confusing when not used the same ways or mixed with Germanic words. its hard to explain though the differences in sentence structure. you guys also shockingly have a lot less words for things, or a lot of words that mean multiple things. that shit is maddening lol

The best thing about Spanish that you leave out three or so words and the sentence still be correct and makes sense.

For Spanish I mostly just remember some common phrases and a lot of random translations so I can't understand sentences at all but I can usually pick up enough words to get the gist
