No, that's not really a secret. Most of them change their voice to keep from being noticed in public, but there's an in-joke when a lot of them drop their voice and use their natural tone.

They pay big money just to hire riggers to do the work for them, to get their models moving and whatnot. We're talking upwards of hundreds to thousands of dollars.
