Confession time : one of my students was getting bullied by three other kids so my colleagues and I punished them, but they started doing it again a few weeks later. We didn't know it was happening again until I had to break up a fight between the victim and one of the bullies on the playground. When I saw the victim was getting the upper hand and starting to dismantle the other kid, I intentionally took a few extra seconds to ask other kids to stay away before I pulled him off the fight. Needless to say they never bullied him again.
