no Ben was awesome he sold the site a couple years before smark bought it bc he had just had a kid and didn't have time anymore. It was Jay, who wasn't even the owner but was given ownerish powers by the dummy smark bought it from

Seems like Chris remembered the story pretty well. My only issue with Ben is why he sold it on a flipper site to a middle man named Josh I don’t know. It should have gone to someone here that built the place.

Yeah like imagine thinking it's a good idea to just fucking turn it offline for a period of time when he already had an established userbase for the most part. Lmfao

He didn’t even tell the owner. Who knows how long the site would have been offline if I hadn’t contacted Twitchy.

I only found out because Josh tried to buy it back from me to flip it again. He was the one who sold to Twitchy. Who didn’t even know forums well.

Twitchy had a lot of grand ideas that just weren't feasible for the site at the time, probably how Jay got in his ear bc he did too

Yeah, he seemed very well intended. I’m glad he got it and not Jay himself. He’s the reason I even have it now so I can’t badmouth him.

and Jay only made like one episode of the podcast lol
