Cody needed to leave AEW, at least for a while at the time. I think, as much as him losing was very frustrating, I have *some* faith that he can recover. but with Vince in charge again, might not be a full recovery. Like if it was Triple H 100% running the ship, I'd have faith he'd win his next feud and have a meaningful slow burn to winning with a redemption story. Maybe Jey ends Roman's run to be poetic, give him a brief but meaningful title reign then Cody gets his shot when the time is right.
