I don't understand Let's Plays either. Why would I want to watch someone else play a game when I could do it myself?

It's less that and more watching someone experience a thing you like and getting their perspective on it.

It's kind of the same principle as watching someone's review of a game/movie/show you like. You wanna see what they have to say about it and watching their process of how they either enjoy it or don't enjoy it.
