Asuka should honestly always have been booked as the Horsewoman Killer, if not the one constant that could consistently face off against the Four Horsewomen and beat them.

The moment they took away the spotlight off her immediately after winning the first ever Women's Rumble (in the Main Event of the fuckin' PPV nonetheless) to give it to Rousey, her path to not becoming the next big Main Event thing in the Women's division was sealed.
