I know you love the Beatles but I don't fine their bassline to be anything extraordinary or imaginative myself. I'll keep a closer ear out next time I listen to them

Paul's basslines are pretty iconic tho lol in how understated they are but just how *funky* they are

I highly suggest giving Lady Madonna, Hey Bulldog, And Your Bird Can Sing, Rain, and Come Together for an idea of Paul's understated but perfect bass playing

Paul doesn't play "crazy" bass lines, but what do does do is make bass lines that are just perfect and give every song that extra oomph.

You do kinda have to listen for it but I'd say those songs Grim named are good examples, and once you hear it, you'll notice it every time lol there's just a lot more going on usually too

It's also probably fair to put it into the perspective of 1960s music in that these kinds of bass-lines were extremely inventive in the lens that Paul was originally a guitar player, so he never really unlearned how to do that.
