Yeah, I'm trying again today. At least you get the special weapon which does damage to him, but his second phase is pretty nuts with the skull fire things.

My biggest problem with that boss is it feels like a lot of his attacks are incredibly hard to dodge.

he drove me nuts for sure tho, his voice is so gross and he just laughs at u lol

Like he does this earthquake attack and it doesn't seem like jumping, rolling or anything stops it from hurting you.

they are, you need to move a lot but on the flip side the attacks u can do with the serpent spear are slow

I think I cheesed the first phase too that helps, spamming my crazy flame sword special

Actually haven't summoned for any of the fights yet aside from Spirit Ashes, but Rykard seems like he'd be a fun boss with another person.

It definitely feels as though this game gets quite the difficulty spike later on. Where as I felt Dark Souls got easier towards the later stages.
