I wonder if it's possible to use left over magic from dead souls, not like in a way of a necromancer, but more in their latent form of magic. I dunno if that makes sense.

High lvl mage can likely divise a way to leave pary of his magical essence somewhere tgat stays post death. Dont let ur dreams b dreams regardless

Yeah, now my campaign has a Holy City of sorts (which is technically the capital of the continent despite every city actually being a city state). My idea is that when the players enter the biggest cathedral, from where essentially the Pope lives, the souls of the dead, left behind by their latent magic, can be heard chanting.
