it was slightly better when my parents moved out to the lake outside of town but from 5th grade until college we lived in the center of town and grown ass adults who barely knew my parents would snitch on me for having parties on the weekends bc they saw cars they didn't usually see at my house like what the fuck you're 35 and don't live close to me

After I was in college my dad straight up asked me if we used to drink those weekends bc they always left to stay at the lake they later lived on and knew I would have friends over and my mom was like "are you dumb" lol
