I think most that hated him didn't really hate him or the character, just the booking which hopefully would be fixed

The issue with Bray is he's just not very good in the ring as a whole and he cannot cover it up by being a good talker.

Bray as a manager would be spectacular but he's too ripped for that.

Look at Kevin Owens, in one segment they basically booked him as a fearsome heel again.
