Honestly I've never taken time to really analyze the whole "Jericho hitches his wagon to more popular acts" theory. I'm sure there's validity to it. But at the same time, a lot of the more cynical diehard fanbase really doesn't acknowledge how popular Jericho has been consistently.

Even when he's doing shit that I personally find to not be good, the crowds mostly eat the shit up anyways so...

Yeah I'd say that's an unfair criticism of both Punk and Jericho bc we have no wat of knowing if Tony is deciding these feuds and pairings or if Jericho is and Tony is agreeing to them, probably a mix of both so who's to say which is which

Punk also worked with some lower card guys for a good few months between Darby and Eddie feuds, people were complaining he wasn't wrestling bigger names lol

If anyone I would apply this to like... Shane McMahon. He was in a few feuds with guys he just had no business being in feuds with and getting unwarranted wins against them too.
