first nations is the preferred term in Australia, interesting. I usually go with indigenous as yeah upon education was informed the aboriginal term is not super cool and that a lot of indigenous folks don't like the connotations behind it

I honestly get really confused with what term to use here so I stick with First Nations unless I actually know the persons tribe

paying respects to elders past, present and emerging. acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, and vow to maintain their customs
