This world had something happen a long time ago and now the Wilderness is out of control, eating almost all history that ever existed and replacing it with a vast wilderness of horrible monsters and beasts. Nobody knows why this happened, and the only place where there possibly could be answers, it's locked up and nobody is allowed into this archival vault under penalty of death.
