I get it that some jokes come across more as funny and some come across as cruel

Jokes about rape, and even stuff like the Holocaust, are to be structured in a sense of over-exaggeration and absurdity.

It's why shows like Sunny and South Park persist. The characters in the shows that are offensive are deliberately so and purposely portrayed as scumbags. They're mocking people who are ignorant or have the "offensive" beliefs.

I had an idea, like it isn’t a total fix and everything. But like, at least have some sort of warning at the start of them to be like “this type of shit is here, watch at your own risk “ like that’s some sort of middle ground here

I never talked about this yesterday but they literally tried to do that for video games and music, and it only made that stuff more popular specifically because it was now taboo.
