@The Fourth Wall @Butters I'm a few hours late but here goes. So in a hypothetical scenario where Capcom decided to re-remake Resident Evil 1, here's what I'd love to see:
- Keep Crimson Heads, they were integral to the remake and served as a great auxiliary enemy that the player must be on the lookout for.
- Lisa Trevor becomes a stalker and is met much earlier in the game, she will now follow the player from room to room (not into save rooms or puzzle rooms) and will serve as the game's NEMESIS, Mr. X, Jack Baker, etc.
- Bring back the Graveyard/Picture Room shortcut from the Remake; it cuts travel time in half and allows easy access to areas such as the Courtyard.
- Use Jill's RE3make model and Chris's RE7/8 Model
- Expand the mansion somewhat by introducing a 3rd floor, adding an Arrow key used as a replacement for Chris's small keys and that Jill uses. There are now five major keys to the mansion, the Arrow key (which replaces the peridot arrowhead found in the 2nd-floor mansion), the Sword key, the Armor key, the Shield key (which now opens more doors than just the balcony), and the Helmet key.
- Give Richard Aiken a bigger role, serving as a tertiary ally before he's killed off by the Tyrant via sacrificing himself to save the others momentarily. Secondary allies are involved in the other campaign, so Barry appears in Chris's campaign, and Rebecca appears in Jill's, tying both together as a more conducive experience. In addition to this, it should be possible to have an ending where the player character can save all principal actors: Jill, Chris, Barry, and Rebecca. A non-canon ending can also include Richard being rescued if the player performs certain actions during the playthrough.
- Wesker's reveal as a villain should occur halfway through the game when he murders Enrico (who has a bigger role as well) in cold blood and leaves the player character to fight Lisa Trevor alone in the caverns.
- The caverns should also serve as a hub area for the rest of the game, tying into the mansion, the courtyard, and the labs.
- The doorway underneath the main hall leading to the labs will now be an entrance into the caverns, which will serve as a requirement to get into the labs. Lisa's final fight will occur before entering the caverns as usual.
- The laboratory should be expanded further to include other testing areas and key items, such as kennels for the Cerberus, and a test room from which the Chimera are introduced. Zombies down here are now a mix of infected personnel (normal zombies) and experimentations that shamble faster and deal more damage to the player character (think Forest when he reanimates).
- To add a sense of updating to the game, Jill will have 10 item slots to Chris's 8, and Jill will keep the M302 Grenade Launcher from Forest's body, whilst Chris will now have a Heckler & Koch MP5 Submachine Gun from Forest's body. Richard's Assault Shotgun will no longer be given to the player as he now has a bigger role and the addition of a submachine gun for Chris.
