I haven't played Madden but it looks like the exact same game for 10 years straight

It is, fun for multiplayer still as well but gets boring quick outside of that. Most EA and 2K games are like that tbf, game play isn't really an issue with any of them

i felt like the only weirdo who liked in depth franchise modes, it's a shame my interest in sports and gaming dipped otherwise myGM and myleague would be my thing

I like a lot of sports games just for career and franchise modes. I like developing a dream team or being my own avatar in a league playing with or against my favourites.

as you said the worst thing these games usually do is strip features from game modes deemed irrelevant without adding anything that great in return

I tried to have the Madden talk with kif awhile back. More so I hate companies having the exclusive license for a game, because I feel games would be better if others could make one to compete
