I don't really wanna know his reasons, but my reasons for not really liking "Latinx" as a term are more based on the practicality of the Spanish language than anything. For one, it's fucking hard to pronounce in Spanish, and it doesn't make sense in a language that already has gender-neutral language when spoken in relation to plurals. Spanish, French, and Italian just don't work in the same way English does where you can make words for people. My preference would actually be in a term that makes more linguistic sense, such as "Latine", but "Latinos" is still a gender-neutral term either way when pluralized.
