Birth of a nation is stunning, especially the first half, but the black face just feels like parody, it literally detracts from the movie outside of an offensive racial context, the performances duck

She stupidly split it over 3 classes too which was dumb, we started it with like a half hour left on a Thursday, watched 2 hours straight the next Tuesday and them finished the next Thursday lmao
