As I mentioned in my review of the game, EarthBound Beginnings has been ready to release in the west since 1990, but just didn't for one reason or another. Fully translated and ready to release but just not produced. It coming out in 2015 was a god send, but it's not like they re-translated the game. They used Phil Sandhop's work from 1990 for the modern release. Shit like this is what makes EarthBound's history so wild.
