sometimes comedians are better off the cuff and in conversation
I feel this way about Kevin Hart. I don't find his stand-up works for me, but get the guy in an interview or any sort of talk show and I'm laughing my ass off

I feel like that’s how I am. When I try making jokes, I really can’t do it. But like when I’m just having a conversation and talking with people, I can be entertaining

I think it's because stand-up is more rehearsed, where as when they just think up funny stuff on the fly it can hit a lot funnier

That's a great example. I think a lot of American stand ups are forced on stage because panel shows aren't as established and if they are, you've got Bill Maher breathing down your neck or something. It's not the same vibe. Not to mention Opie and Anthony and Howard Stern either dying or changing radically.

British comedians are much better at self-deprecation

It's very difficult to piece together segments verbally, and make them hit. You need rhythm. It's difficult to get into one when the situation is so foreign, which is why stand ups can be open mics for YEARS.

I can see that, when I watched you in those videos you were funny when you weren't even trying to be.

That's how I usually make people laugh as well when I just randomly think of something stupid to say, and it hits

this is partly why I wanna do a podcast type deal, where I have guest or a co-host. I think I could do well with that
