I do like WWE's current approach of trainin' athletes who didn't get drafted but still wanna achieve an athletic career. The indy stuff really didn't work all that well outside of NXT for them. They were always better at makin' their own stars, these stubborn indy guys didn't fit the mold for the most part

They have had that issue before, like in the late 2000s it kinda felt like everyone coming up was some Orton clone. But overall they've used the system for a long time and found most of their biggest stars that way.

Trainin' folks like their Orton until they find their own identity isn't a bad thing

That's also true. When you're taking these people with no wrestling experience, it stands to reason that they aren't really gonna have much distinguishing feature for the first few years.

I was even saying just the other day that I hope AEW also lets the indies breathe. Focus on what you have in house already. I feel like we don't have long and prolific indie runs like we used to back in the day because NXT and AEW coming along.
