Thank you yes, not only that, Manhunter shows that the people who hunt these serial killers themselves can fall into massive trappings of the killers themselves. The main character in Manhunter outright tells his son that the only reason he's not like them is that he can control his impulses. Jodie Foster throughout the whole of SOTL is like an entranced teenager with this manipulative psychopath who waxes poetic in Hannibal Lector.

Will Graham does not put up with Hannibal Lecter's shit for the most part, but he knows that the two of them are extremely similar as far as mind sets to. Jodie Foster just felt so out of her element as far as her character go.

Anthony Hopkins is great but I feel people were way too transfixed by his performance than anything his character actually did. If you actually observe Silence of the Lambs, he really does all of jack shit but speak in obnoxious prose and this woman buys everything that he says. Silence of the Lambs I feel has just aged terribly in hindsight.
