It kinda makes me think of when Matt Hardy posted that video tweet a week or so ago basically saying people on Twitter need to stop mobbing up on people who are simply expressing opinions because the exchange of ideas is what leads to progress and shit and then very predictably there's this whole swarm of people jumping to assume he's an alt-right anti-vaxxer and literally insulting him for what I feel is not a controversial take

And I can also understand why the thought of an enforced moral code enforced on them can scare people as well

But there is that ideal place somewhere between. Not the literal middle, but probably a culture where we hold people accountable, but also don't rush to conclusions and allow people the chance to learn from mistakes.

I didn't even hear about this. Seems a very level headed take by Matt.

These people basically read "let people have opinions" as "let people be racist, misogynist, dangerous assholes" which is a terrible mentality

And he's not wrong, I've lost the plot getting mad countless times when trying to understand and explain your position is obviously always much more fruitful, regardless if it's easy to get frustrated getting bombarded daily by negative things
