I always loved that south park episode where they find the cave man that was frozen in like 1998 and they are like, “we’re gonna send him to Des Moines where he will be more comfortable, it’s like going back in time 10 years there”

I lived in Des Moines for a bit and then when i went back to my hometown it was even worse, they didn’t even have debit card readers at stores yet. I went to the movie theater and couldn’t get in because i didn’t have actual cash on me.
