Can I say, in doing my research for Wolfenstein 3D, I fucking love John Carmack.

Guy invented thermite as a teenager to break into his school's computer lab and take a computer, went and invented a technique to make platformer games on the PC easier than ever, and then when he saw Ultima Underworld in development (with texture mapping), straight up told both developers of the game, "I could build an engine like this much faster"... and did.
