Well, I quit my job today

I basically called to tell them that I was unable to work due to having a crap ton of HW. Then the manager told me that I needed to call to have someone cover my shift... And then proceeded to say I needed to "manage my own life" basically saying it wasn't his problem.

So I called back later and said I will manage my own life by deciding I will not be disrespected and said I quit.

And like, I get it to a degree, but just a lack of sympathy hurts. He even praised the company for "giving us a raise." Bs...

The issue isn't the pay. It is just fucking Starbucks. It is just that I am in school spending a lot of money on it, and while I like the extra financial stability from working once or twice a week, it is not my priority. School is

I probably wouldn't be confident enough in myself to do that, but I have had many times of that feeling in a job of wanting to quit there and then tbh

And if my University was in my home town and I'd be at my old store, I probably would still be working there since my old manager was pretty understanding of stuff. Both old managers in my hometown.

Like I was balling my eyes out from an anxiety attack because of school, she said it was fine. Then another time my mom had a scare at like 11:00pm at night where we were worried she was having a heart-attack and had to call an ambulance, she was understanding.

I can't stand being spoken to like I'm somebody's shit on their shoe, it's not worth it

Meanwhile this manager gave me some guff about not calling someone to cover a shift that I called 3-4 days in advance of saying I couldn't make it because I was in my hometown because my grandmother was literally on her deathbed.
