I think they've done season premieres around this time without drafts too but not sure

Seems pretty arbitrary when it's a year-long show but maybe the networks need to divide it into seasons for some reason? Probs just a a marketing thing tho lol

I think they started doing seasons back in 2010 or 2009

I remember in 05 I think when they went back to USA for that homecoming it was like in the summer or fall? Def not at the end of the year though lol

Feels like they just wanna give viewers the feeling of a TV series... the timing points to that, having a "season premiere" in fall.

Also Seasons changed, it used to be april but when they went to FOX it became the new season

Pretty sure it was at some point from what I remember but they really focused on seasons once they went to fox
