Here's a good compilation if you want to understand why Ringo's music worked so well for the Beatles.

There's also the little tidbit that he was the most popular Beatle out of everybody because he was personable, funny, and just a nice guy overall. George was quiet and mysterious, Paul was too uptight and polite, and John just said whatever the fuck he wanted.

I mean John's my favorite as well, but not because he's a good person.

I've seen heavy metal jam sessions that are much more concise and complex than a lot of Beatles stuff. Wouldn't say a lot of it was better though, just too fast for me to comprehend

The thing about the Beatles is they were among the first bands to really change up how music is produced and written.

So a lot of the Beatles' early stuff is a case of "Seinfeld is Unfunny", but their music from 1966-1969 is beyond timeless.

I also point out, that The Beatles went from "She Loves Me" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand" from 1963-64 to "Nowhere Man", "Norwegian Wood", "Ticket to Ride", "In My Life", and "Tomorrow Never Knows" in 1965-66. That's an insane evolution that you can hear as their albums get more complex. No other band can I think of outside of The Beach Boys from Summer Days (and Summer Nights) to Pet Sounds had that kind of progression of music.

With other bands like Gorillaz that experienced a musical evolution, years had passed by that point, with Gorillaz coming out in 2001 and Demon Days in 2005.
