Also if you pick up vials but you are already at your carrying max the remainder will go to your storage and when you die it will top your vials off with whatever you have in storage, I don't think the game tells you this but it's super useful

Yeah man I wasn't picking them up at first like an idiot when I was max, until I realised they get stored.

Sometimes I get tons of vials from enemies and then often it feels like they never drop any

Usually big guys tend to drop them more often

But they may be harder for you to kill until you get the parry timing down

I know there is two big dudes to the left gate at Central Yharnam, might be a good place to farm. I've killed them a couple of times and they usually drop vials
