They needed to get in front of the scrutiny they'd get. Vince just managed to also use that to also secure major brand deals that would only spend on pg programs like Mattel.

And then in 2010 they launched the "Stand up for WWE" campaign where they encouraged fans to shill and shut down talk of bad things they did in the past, just so Linda wouldn't lose as badly
