I wasn't aware there was a negative opinion on it when I saw it. I saw it opening night or rather the Thursday before since Regal day as a 10 PM showing the Thursday before for big releases. My and girl friend that saw it immediately discussed things I didn't particularly care about it. It's probably fair to say the reaction I saw afterwards has probably further soured my opinion. Either way, I don't care for many of the choices Rian made.

I didn't see it until it was on Netflix and I think all the negative opinions actually made me enjoy the movie more bc it wasn't as bad as I thought, I still have complaints but overall I still rate it as a solid Star Wars movie

I'd put it above Phantom Menace and AotC easily but its pretty close with Solo to me but I think Solo is underrated af

My biggest problem isn't really the film itself. It's the film in the larger context of the trilogy it's apart of and the larger saga as a whole. If that had only been Rian's vision and he wasn't pushing aside stuff other people setup, I'd be happier with it. Because I don't think it's a bad film. I just don't care for it as apiece in a larger set. Especially now that JJ is back and the middle is going to feel further disjointed.

@Very Barry Christmas not true. I put over The Force Awakens more than most and Rogue One is a top 5 Star Wars film for me. I defended Disney's era of Star Wars for years before TLJ came out. I complain because I didn't enjoy the choices made.
