I'm not going to speak on the specifics of this case because I've not read into the stories well enough to, but there are people who do take GHB and other drugs like it recreationally. I can't speak to why, either, but the drug and party scene has always eluded me. It's weird stuff, sometimes. Most of the time, however, GHB is used nonconsensually as we all know so it's a hard sell.
