I'd rather let the Chaotic Evil character live rather than the Neutral Evil, because the Neutral Evil has the capacity of completely betraying you of your trust while with the Chaotic Evil character, you know what he is and what he's capable of. You specifically *don't* trust the Chaotic Evil, but you can find yourself falling into that trust with Neutral Evil.
