Well they were certainly trying with Ahmed Johnson. If he could just stay healthy, he probably would have been a WWE champion in either '96 or '97.

Killa, the reason people question it is because he wasn't he first Samoan Champion but after him WWE has never booked a second black Champion. So Vince clearly doesn't mind Samoan WWF Champions, but it seems he doesn't want to book black ones.
